Chapter 4: Sitemap and Microsoft FrontPage

This quarter, I had the opportunity to learn about numerous parts of web development, such as sitemaps and Microsoft FrontPage. By thinking back on my experiences with these topics, I was able to develop important understandings about the significance of efficient website arrangement and the usefulness of web design tools.

The idea of sitemaps made me aware of a website's basic framework. I was able to appreciate the value of a well-organized website structure and navigation system after learning about sitemaps. I came to understand that a logical and clear sitemap improves usability and makes it easier for users to find information. I made sitemaps of our CBR through exercises in practice, which assisted me in visualizing the website's structure and strategically planning its content. This knowledge laid the groundwork for creating user-friendly websites.

A useful platform for putting web design principles into practice and giving webpages life was provided by Microsoft FrontPage. I gained practical experience developing webpages using FrontPage's user-friendly interface, including text, graphics, links, and multimedia material. I discovered how to design interesting and visually appealing webpages by adjusting the layout, formatting text, and optimizing graphics. Because I could see the outcomes of my design decisions right away, I was able to experiment and iterate, which helped me better grasp web design principles and how to put them to use.

I learned several useful abilities through the study of sitemaps and Microsoft FrontPage. First, by developing concise and organized sitemaps that serve as a roadmap for website development, I improved my analytical and organizational skills. I gained the ability to evaluate website information critically and determine how best to present it for the best user experience. Second, I developed useful abilities in webpage design, layout, and multimedia integration using Microsoft FrontPage. These abilities have improved my total digital competency by enabling me to design aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly webpages.

I was able to personally experience the effects of effective web design thanks to the actual implementation of sitemaps and Microsoft FrontPage. I developed a deeper appreciation for the value of user-centered design and simple navigation by generating sitemaps and putting them to use using FrontPage. I came to understand that having a well-structured website has a favorable impact on both search engine optimization and the user experience. By bridging the gap between theory and practical implementation, these exercises emphasized the value of carefully considered website design.

I faced difficulties with sitemaps and Microsoft FrontPage that put my ability to think creatively and solve problems to the test. It took patience and focus to comprehend and visualize intricate website architectures, guarantee flawless navigation, and create perfect internet design. These difficulties helped me progress as a web developer nonetheless. They inspired me to exercise critical thinking, look for solutions, and make constant improvements to my designs. By overcoming these obstacles, I gained self-assurance and developed resilience for when I encounter similar hurdles in the future.

In light of my experiences with sitemaps and Microsoft FrontPage, I'm appreciative of the expertise and abilities I've developed in web development. My understanding of efficient web design principles and their practical application has been widened by my use of Microsoft FrontPage as a design tool and my understanding of the necessity of sitemaps in the layout of websites. These experiences have given me useful abilities, but they have also motivated me to learn more about the dynamic field of web development.

Embracing the Power of Aspirations

The seeds of our destiny are found in the world of dreams. We have the ability to control how our lives will turn out by working within the boundaries of our ideas and goals. Our dreams have the power to direct our activities, motivate our efforts, and carry us forward into a future with countless possibilities.

Dreams are incredibly powerful. They ignite our ambitions and show the potential that is already present within us. Our dreams are more than just idle fantasies; they are manifestations of our most fervent hopes and ambitions. They fuel our aspirations, establish our goals, and serve as a compass, pointing us in the direction of a future that resonates with our true selves.

Our dreams provide us with a vision, a place to go, and a call to move forward. They assist us in determining our goals and provide us with something worthwhile that we can strive toward. By focusing on our goals, we give our behaviors and choices more of an intentional quality. We set sail for the future we wanted, persevering through obstacles and disappointments with unshakable tenacity.

Dreams by themselves are insufficient; they must be turned into achievable goals. We transform our aspirations into stepping stones on the road to accomplishment by breaking down our dreams into achievable objectives. Each objective serves as a stepping stone that helps us advance, allowing us to track our development and recognize our successes along the way.

We reach our maximum potential when we actively seek our goals. We find untapped abilities, develop fresh capacities, and get past our restrictions. The pursuit of our goals serves as a catalyst for personal development and self-discovery, enabling us to grow into our best selves. With each step we take toward our goals, we open doors to new opportunities and push the limits of what we previously believed was possible.

We face challenges as we work toward our goals. There may be obstacles, doubts may surface, and the journey may appear difficult. But it's in these times that our resilience and determination shine through. Our aspirations give us the willpower to overcome challenges, grow from setbacks, and overcome them stronger than before. We have the tenacity to conquer any challenge that gets in the way because we have unflinching faith in our ability to achieve our goals.

We motivate those around us when we bravely pursue our dreams. We inspire others to pursue their goals with the same tenacity by modeling it for them. By following our aspirations, we cause a contagious effect that inspires others and lights their own flame of possibility. Our behavior shows that dreams are not just idle speculations but actual realities just waiting to be lived.

My goal is to succeed as an engineer. There are countless opportunities to innovate, solve problems, and advance society in the field of engineering. As an individual with a dream to become a successful engineer, I am driven by a passion for creating impactful solutions and making a difference in the world.

Effective problem-solving abilities, a desire for invention, adaptability, and a dedication to lifelong learning are all necessary for success as an engineer. Engineers can have a significant impact on the world by developing these traits, advancing a variety of businesses, and raising people's standards of living. Successful engineers create the road for a better future and leave a lasting legacy by embracing the challenges, remaining curious, and constantly improving their skills.

Our dreams are inextricably linked to our future. Our ambitions become a living, breathing reality when we harness the force of our desires, create goals, unleash our potential, and persevere through difficulties. Let us keep in mind that our dreams are the key to our fulfillment, meaning, and pleasure as we set out on our road. Let's work together to tap into the power of our dreams and create a future that reflects our limitless potential.

Change Starts in Me: Embracing the Power Within

Change is an undeniable force that shapes our lives, our communities, and our world. It can be daunting to think about the enormity of change, but what if we realized that change starts with us? Each and every one of us has the power to ignite a spark of transformation within ourselves, ultimately creating a ripple effect that reaches far beyond our own lives. By recognizing our capacity for change and embracing it wholeheartedly, we can become catalysts for a better tomorrow.

Change begins by looking inward and understanding ourselves on a deeper level. Through self-reflection and self-awareness, we gain insight into our beliefs, values, and behaviors. By acknowledging our strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement, we empower ourselves to initiate meaningful change. The journey of transformation starts with a genuine desire to grow and evolve as individuals.

Labor of Love

I can still clearly recall crying when my mom left for Saudi Arabia for the first time. I was just six years old and in the first grade at the time. I wasn't really sure why she had to leave. I was simply aware that we needed money to cover family expenses.

As a result, I worked really hard on my academics because I wanted to help our family. In fact, I consistently earned a spot in our class' honors. Despite our distance, I wished for my mom to have genuine happiness. But at that moment, all I wanted was for her to come back to our home. Well, Mama did come home when I was in fourth grade, and I can't even begin to describe how I felt. I was happy to learn that my mom is now able to join me on stage whenever I win awards in a competition or make the honor roll. She then had to return. She will return after my elementary school graduation, which she is just waiting for. So she returned when I was in my first year of high school, and she is still there now.

Mother endured the anguish of living life apart from us for four years. The fact that we don't share the same schedule made it difficult for us to communicate with one another. Little by little, I began to feel my mother's absence in my heart as a result of these bad circumstances. I guess it had something to do with the fact that I was already a young teen growing up. But we're still working to maintain the same connection we had in the past, and I can tell that it's slowly returning.

Therefore, a mother is more powerful than any other creature in the universe! She is the one who likely possesses all of the power. She now has some authority to handle international events, thanks to God. And to honor motherhood and its essential qualities, we annually observe Mother's Day, a special day set aside to honor the unfathomable power of mothers. Mother's Day is observed annually in May, and on this day, people all around the world honor the contributions that women make in balancing their families, careers, and social obligations.

Mothers are their children's first teachers and friends. She nurtures her child with all of her heart and soul for the nine months that she bears him or her in her womb. Since her children were born, she has been able to read their every gesture. She raises her children with unwavering love and mentors them in making the correct decisions. She looks after her kids and makes every effort to keep them safe.

A child's mother is the first person they look for when they get home. From the moment she gives birth until she dies, she takes care of her children. Their countless contributions to our lives and everything they accomplish from morning to night are too numerous for us to count. Even though they are weary, mothers carry out all of their tasks and responsibilities throughout the day. For all the love they show us and all the care they provide, they never ask for anything in return. However, we can express our gratitude to our mothers for everything they do for us.

Our mothers should be respected, and we should obey them. The mother is the one who molds her children's personalities and characters. Every mother contributes significantly to the growth and development of her children. She provides for all of her child's needs. Children learn best from their mothers. She adores her children and supports them in all circumstances, guiding them through thick and thin. A mother is the one who prevents her children from doing wrong and discourages them when they have a tendency to take the wrong turn. The first teacher of any child is their mother, because she corrects them and leads them in the proper direction. Children are taught proper behavior, equity, morality, and humanity by their mothers. In fact, a child's mother is the greatest blessing in his life.

A mother's entire world revolves around her kids. It is our responsibility to look after our mothers, never to let them be unhappy, to treat them with respect, and, under any circumstance, to stay with them even when they are being difficult to us. A mother always pushes her kids to succeed and pushes them to strive harder in life. In order for a mother to be happy, her children must constantly be happy; otherwise, she will never be happy.

This Mother's Day, I greeted my mother, lolas, and titas from both my mother's and father's sides. We had a simple Mother's Day celebration. We simply shared a lunch meal and had a handshake in the afternoon. The family's boys spent their time bonding over alcoholic beverages and karaoke. Even though I spent this day with my mom in another country, it was a good day. Well, hopefully she'll join us for our celebration of Mother's Day when it comes around again.

In conclusion, the connection between a mother and her child is so unique that both children and their moms treasure it forever. To properly honor mothers, we should make every day as wonderful as Mother's Day and show them how much we appreciate them. We ought to thank our mothers for all the tiny things they do for us on a daily basis. The love and respect of her children are the most precious gifts a mother could get. So let's make a commitment to make each day unique for our mothers and make sure that she has a pleasant and fulfilling life.

Labor Day is a national holiday in the Philippines celebrated on May 1st to appreciate the hard work and achievements of Filipino workers. This holiday is especially meaningful for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and mariners who continue to fight for better working conditions abroad. Meanwhile, business owners see Labor Day as a time to thank their employees' dedication, which fuels their company's success.

 

Labor Day can be traced back to the late nineteenth century, when workers' rights movements were gaining momentum around the world. Labor Day is more than just a holiday in the Philippines; it represents the sacrifices and successes of Filipino workers. The history of Labor Day in the country dates back to 1908, when labor unions demanded a regular holiday for this occasion. In 1908, the Philippine Assembly established legislation making Labor Day a public holiday in order to recognize employees' achievements and hard work. Inhumane working conditions were common at the time, and Filipino laborers had no legal protection against their bosses. The Labor Congress and organized trade movements played an essential role in campaigning for the recognition of Labor Day as a national holiday.

 

Labor Day recognizes and honors the contributions of workers to society, as well as their hard work and dedication. This day serves as a reminder to all workers of the importance of fair labor standards, social protection, and human rights. Furthermore, recognizing Labor Day serves as a reminder that we may continue to push for policies that encourage fair employment opportunities and improve working conditions not only locally but also globally. As businesses develop internationally, our lobbying must be matched with efforts from governments that are responsible for preserving their citizens’ welfare, especially when they work overseas, such as OFWs and sailors.

 

With millions of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) operating in various industries around the world, Filipino workers are a significant force in the global market. Their hard work and contributions have made them a vital element of many countries economies, promoting growth and development. They are known for their hard work, perseverance, and resilience, which are vital attributes in business. Because of their exceptional skills and expertise, many companies around the world rely on Filipino workers.

 

Because of their unique set of skills, Filipino workers are attractive candidates for various job opportunities overseas, which not only helps sustain their families but also significantly boosts the Philippine economy through remittances sent back home by OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers). This makes Filipino workers not only essential players in the global market but also critical contributors to their country's progress.

 

As we celebrate Labor Day, it is important to remember that the fight for fair and just working conditions continues. This is especially true for OFWs, mariners, and business owners, who frequently encounter specific hurdles in their respective areas. Advocacy and raising awareness about worker issues should not stop after Labor Day. The government and civil society organizations should work together to preserve workers' rights, promote decent employment opportunities, and offer social protection for all. Supporting labor unions and other organized groups that fight to improve working conditions is one approach to accomplishing this. By joining these organizations or fighting for better regulations that protect workers’ welfare, we can have a substantial influence on the lives of OFWs, mariners, company owners, and all Filipino employees.

 

In conclusion, Labor Day is more than simply another public holiday that Filipinos observe every year. It symbolizes the long-fought battles of labor unions and organized trades for better working conditions and workers' rights. This day serves as a remembrance of the sacrifices made by people who campaigned for fair wages, safe workplaces, and social protection.

Chapter 3: Improved Understanding of HTML and Community-Based Research

This academic year is already three-fourths complete. Time really goes by quickly. It seems like yesterday that we had to make an awkward introduction in front of everyone. Now, we all laugh, smile, and make jokes at one another. We feel like we just started the school year, but now that it's almost done, there's only a quarter left until we can graduate high school.

This quarter, I explored more deeply into the world of HTML; it was yet another period of learning and discovery for me. I acquired more knowledge about HTML lists. I gained knowledge of ordered and unordered HTML lists. I discovered how to make lists and sub-lists, as well as how to include pictures or links inside of list items. I learned that lists of related objects can be grouped together in HTML using HTML lists.

Additionally, I also acquired more knowledge on HTML frames. I discovered that you can divide your browser window into various sections, and each of those sections can load distinct HTML content using HTML frames. I initially considered HTML frames to be difficult to understand because of how they functioned. Yet, as I tried and experimented with building other frame types, I got better and was able to see how they could be used to design aesthetically pleasing and useful websites. I now comprehend frames better and know how to choose the right size and number of frames, how to fill each frame with content, and how to use links to add content. Now, I can easily create lists and frames. I've also had a chance to put this new information to work, and as a result of my study and practical application, I now understand HTML frames and HTML lists much better.

And the highlight of this quarter is community-based research. Community-based research is challenging and hard, but worthwhile. I had the chance to make new friends and meet new people. We interviewed a few farmers and learned a lot about their farming practices, including their approaches and tactics. It was a great experience. Along with the value of collaboration and teamwork, I also learned how to establish strong bonds with my classmates. The creation of our community-based research website was an enjoyable and fun project that helped me hone my web programming abilities and expand my understanding of HTML tags.

Up until now, I still procrastinate because I still don't know how to manage my time effectively, which is the problem. I struggle to balance my time; I feel overloaded and stressed. Specifically, when there are many school assignments, performance outputs, and quizzes and I still have a lot of jobs or duties at home, I make every effort to avoid procrastination. I'm going to start preventing procrastination by learning how to manage our time properly, keep a balance, and stay focused.

To sum up, this quarter has been filled with valuable opportunities for learning and priceless experiences. I've learned how to use HTML frames and HTML lists from this quarter's experiences to make websites that are both more useful and visually beautiful. I now have a better understanding of how these features work and how they may be used to improve the user experience of a website. Moving forward, I’ll approach the upcoming quarter with a renewed sense of devotion and focus.

A time to repent, a time to renew.

Lent is meant to be a time of repentance. That is not a sense of shame, but rather an understanding of how sin separates us from God and what it took for Him to be reconciled with us. The Lenten Season is a time when people commemorate Jesus Christ's sufferings and death. During the Lenten season, people traditionally do three things: pray, fast, and give alms.

 

As a centuries-old Lent tradition, prayer accompanies fasting. During the Easter season, we should pray to develop our spiritual discipline and deepen our relationship with God. The second is fasting, which is a well-known component of Lent and was inspired by Jesus' 40-day fast in the wilderness. Christians fast to strengthen their control over worldly temptations such as food. Last but not least, giving to others is a custom of the Lent season, inspired by Jesus' instruction to "love your neighbor as yourself." While we should give to others in love throughout the year, an extra focus is put on it during the time of Lent.

 

During this season, two important virtues are also observed: mercy and compassion. Simple measures can be taken to do this. First, surrender to God. People avoid conducting their errands and routines during this stage. This step is typically observed on the Lord's Day, when people attend church and devote time to God. We forget about the pressures of our profession and spend a lot of time with our families and ourselves, just as the word "rest" actually denotes. Second, one must rejuvenate oneself. Renewing ourselves does not imply loving ourselves more. It does not display any additional content. Even if there are many ways to observe Lent, it is essential to understand its true core and value in our lives and religion as Catholics.

 

In the midst of all our trials and tribulations, we must allow ourselves to be renewed by God and others, as well as rejuvenate others. We must observe the Lenten season in a simple and meaningful manner rather than an elaborate one. We must understand humility and sincere forgiveness. We must understand how to prepare for and be conscious of our future encounter with Jesus Christ. The Lenten Season is not only a time to reflect on Christ's sufferings, such as being nailed to the Cross, but it is also a time for renewal. The Lenten season allows us to see changes in our lives as Catholics while also being a change in others lives.

My Holy Week was wonderful; it was a week of spiritual rebirth. I spent Holy Week with my father's family in La Union. This year's Holy Week will always have a special place in my heart because it was the most amazing and delightful Holy Week I've ever had. For me, the Easter Vigil is the highlight of the week. As night falls, the Easter Vigil Mass is held. Our church is silently waiting in the dark. The light of Christ has left the world, and darkness has set in wherever the Easter Vigil Mass is held. In the darkness, a match will be struck, and the Easter fires will be lit outside the church, symbolizing Christ's resurrection from the tomb. Jesus Christ is the light that shines in the midst of our world's darkness.

 

We gather around a brand new fire that has begun to burn, and for the first time, a new paschal candle will be lit. The priest takes on the role of Jesus Christ as he leads the crowd to the darkened, empty church. Then a new Easter candle was lit, leading the march of God's people. The priest performs "in the persona of Christ," taking the newly lit paschal candle inside the church, which is completely dark and awaits his return. For the first time since Good Friday, he brings Christ's light inside the church. Only Jesus Christ can dispel the gloom in our lives. Everything we do and are is meaningless without him. He is the source of all the love, light, and goodness in our lives. Our individual candles will collectively fill the entire church with light, symbolizing the light of Christ that burns within each of us.

 

As I went home, I felt calm and content, which I had never felt before. I recognized that Holy Week was more than just a series of religious events; it was a profound reminder of the meaning of life and the value of religion. I was grateful to have been a part of such a lovely and meaningful occasion. I was able to reflect on Jesus' love, sacrifice, and resurrection. It was a period when I became closer to God and strengthened my resolve to live a life of love, compassion, and service to others.

 

Overall, Lent is a time of inner reflection, self-sacrifice, denial, and repentance. If something has a grip on you, more than likely, it’s become unhealthy. It may or may not be an idol. Lent is an opportunity to grow closer to God, to remember Jesus’ life and death, and to focus more on him and less on ourselves and our busy schedules.
